Horseshoe Bend has been designing and constructing residential and commercial breakwaters since 1995 beginning with a system that would protect the Barge Restaurant from growing wave action on the main channel.  Below you can see the basic design of the units.  They proved to be effective up until the Lake began seeing 32’ long or longer boats.  Their effect on larger waves rapidly diminished and drastic changes needed to be made to redesign an effective breakwater.  The product we offer today uses a galvanized steel frame rather than wood, encapsulated floatation instead of drums, and the manner in which the breakwater actually stops the wave has been manipulated.
